A treatment during your Myeongdong trip?Count backwards from your flight

Skin Reading

"I'm in Korea for five days—what can I get done during that time?"

"Is it okay to get a treatment the day before my flight home?"

This is usually the first question people ask when considering treatments during a trip.

Hello, I am Kwon Si-jin, representative director at DA Clinic Myeongdong, currently preparing to open ^^

We're getting ready to open in Myeongdong soon, and because so many enquiries come in built around travel dates, I wanted to set this down as information first.

When planning a treatment during a trip, the first thing to look at is the calendar, not the treatment menu. That's because the order of treatments is determined not by what you can get, but by how much recovery time you have.

Depending on how many days you have left, what is feasible this time and what is better to postpone will differ.I will explain how they are categorized.

Why we count backwards from the departure date

The problem that arises most often with treatments during a trip isn't the effect — it's the schedule.

The urge to be seen on the day you arrive comes first, but putting a procedure that needs recovery early in the trip can leave the rest of it uncomfortable.

Conversely, putting one right before departure makes it hard to manage on the plane.

So the order is to fix the departure date first and count backwards.

Sorted by recovery period

The time it takes to return to daily life differs by procedure. The flow generally advised is roughly this.

  • Same day to one daythe family that leaves slight redness. Makeup is generally possible
  • Two to three daysinjection families that can leave swelling or bruising. Earlier in the trip is more comfortable than later
  • Five to ten daysthe family that forms a crust. Time is needed until it comes away
  • One to two weeks or morefamilies where recovery care continues. These sit poorly with a short trip

Individual differences mean this won't apply exactly, but it works as a baseline when planning.

Procedures that form a crust need particular care

For the family that removes moles or spots, the procedure itself is short but what matters is until the crust comes away.

Pulling it off during that period can leave a mark, and taking sun directly can bring pigment back.

Travel means a lot of moving about and long hours in the sun, so this family is better placed early so recovery finishes before departure, or postponed to a future visit.

What to check before boarding

Cabins are dry and low in pressure, which can affect the state right after a procedure.

  • Swelling still presentit can stand out more on a long flight
  • A crust presentas it dries it tightens and comes away easily
  • Moisturisera small size to reapply in the cabin is convenient
  • Ultraviolet lightwindow seats let sunlight in

Setting an order within the trip

If you're planning several things, this order is generally sound.

  • Right after arrivalconsultation and diagnosis. Separate what is possible from what is difficult this time
  • Early in the tripfamilies that need recovery
  • Later in the tripfamilies with short recovery
  • Just before departurechecking the state is safer than a new procedure

A plan that packs several into one day can leave recovery overlapping and lasting longer than expected, so it's hard for us to recommend.

What's possible on a short schedule

With around three days, the options do narrow.

Still, sorted toward lighter recovery, it comes to this.

  • Hydration and texture familyredness passes quickly, so it sits easily in a schedule
  • Light toning familyit's designed to be taken in several sessions, so large change from one is hard to expect
  • Muscle-related injection familythe procedure is short, but it's advised that one to two weeks pass before the effect settles. Confirming it during the trip is difficult

Conversely, families that form a crust or need multiple sessions give a better result postponed to a future visit.

Rather than forcing them into a short schedule, having only a diagnosis this time and building a plan is also an option.

What helps to tell us in advance

Bringing this information to the consultation lets us separate what's possible from what should wait far faster.

  • Departure date — the basis for counting back
  • The remaining schedule — whether there's much outdoor activity, or an important occasion
  • Recent procedures — when and what
  • Medication — especially oral acne medication and blood-related medication
  • Allergies and underlying conditions

In these cases postponing this visit is better

  • When under three days remain but you want a procedure needing recovery
  • When long sun exposure is scheduled during the trip — pigment families especially
  • When the skin is sensitised — travel and changed sleep can make it more sensitive than usual
  • Procedures hard to manage after returning — families needing several sessions are hard to continue from abroad

Care that continues after you return

What's most often missed with treatment during a trip is after you go home.

For procedures whose recovery outlasts the trip, care after returning often decides the result.

  • Sun protectionpigment families need it continued for weeks after returning
  • Crustsleave them alone until they come away. Forcing them can leave a mark
  • Warning signsif swelling doesn't subside or pain worsens, having it checked locally is safer
  • The next sessionfor families needing several, ask in advance roughly when to continue

Ask "what should I do once I'm home?" at the consultation before departure and you won't get stuck afterwards.

Checking the location in advance

DA Clinic Myeongdong is preparing to open at the Grand Lotte Seoul, 8th floor, 30 Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul.

We are inside the hotel, so the lobby lift takes you straight up.Euljiro 1-ga Station on Line 2 is a three-minute walk and Myeongdong Station on Line 4 is five.We are on the same block as Lotte Department Store main branch and Lotte Duty Free, which makes it easy to attach to a shopping day, and Myeongdong Cathedral and Myeongdong Theater are two to three minutes on foot.

The closer to your accommodation, the easier the recovery plan.Checking in advance whether it's near enough to rest straight after makes the schedule easier to build.

  • Count backwards from your departure date
  • They are sorted by how long recovery takes
  • Choose only what fits the days you have left

Frequently asked questions

Q. Can I be seen on the day I arrive?

A. It depends on the procedure. But swelling can differ from usual right after long travel, so having consultation and diagnosis first is better.

Q. Can I be seen the day before departure?

A. For families with short recovery it can be possible, but for those leaving swelling or a crust it's hard to recommend, because managing it in a cabin is difficult.

Q. I don't speak Korean — will that be a problem?

A. We're preparing to be able to respond in Japanese, Chinese and English. We'll make sure the content of the consultation carries across even through interpretation.

Q. What about procedures needing several sessions?

A. Families needing several are hard to complete within one trip. We'll separate what's possible this time from what to postpone to a future visit.

Count back from your flight home

Planning a treatment during a trip starts from the departure date, not the treatment menu. Sorting by how long recovery takes first, then choosing only what fits the remaining schedule, is the safe order.
