Before Treatment, Did You Have These Concerns?
“I had toning, but it looks dark again.”
Before assuming there were too few sessions, it is worth reviewing sun exposure, skin irritation, and the type of pigmentation. The time it first appeared and photos from previous treatments are also helpful for consultation.

Similar brown discoloration can have different causes.
We discuss whether to use PicoSure Pro, PicoPlus, or Clarity II based on your skin condition and treatment goals.

Melasma
A color that appears to spread broadly
We check for recurring color changes on the face and aggravating factors. For melasma, sun protection and topical treatment are also considered.
Strong lasers or many sessions are not always the right solution.
The scope of the procedure and suitability are determined after consultation.
Understanding the Treatment
Melasma and spots require different treatment methods.
Melasma, which spreads broadly, clearly defined spots, and marks left after inflammation all require different approaches. We look at where the pigment is located and how the skin responds to irritation, then decide whether to treat a broad area or focus on specific lesions.
Pico toning uses a laser with short pulses. Even if a device name includes “pico,” the wavelength and delivery method are not the same. Some pigment conditions should be adjusted by monitoring the skin’s response rather than trying to remove them strongly in one session.
DA’s Treatment Plan
We first look at why the pigment appeared.
DA’s pigment treatment begins by distinguishing between the color to be treated and the skin that needs less irritation.
See the Actual ProcessWe look at the distribution and changes in color
We check when it started and whether it became darker after sun exposure or inflammation. We divide the plan between overall facial tone and the treatment goals for individual lesions, aiming to reduce unnecessary repeated treatments.
We look at facial and body conditions differently
Pigmentation in the underarms, elbows, and knees may be affected by friction, hair removal, and inflammation. We consider the location and daily sources of irritation together to avoid plans that simply repeat laser treatment.
Improvement and skin response are considered together
We check not only changes in color but also dryness, redness, and any darkening response. If the response is not good, we review the interval, method, and daily care first rather than simply increasing the intensity.

PicoSure Pro Toning · PicoPlus Toning
Toning with different devices considered for broad pigmentation and tone concerns. We do not judge superiority by the product name alone; selection is based on the type of pigment, skin tone, and previous response.
Pico spot removal · Clarity II spot treatment
An item focused on individual pigmented lesions with clear borders. The application method and recovery may differ from broad-area toning, so diagnosis of lesions including moles and age spots comes first.
Body toning
The treated area is determined to match the area stated in the cost information and the actual borders of pigmentation. If friction and inflammation continue, discoloration may return, so we also discuss care to reduce the cause.
Melasma injection
This is an injection item separate from toning. It is selected after confirming the actual ingredients used, the administration method, and the basis for application, and is not a process added by default for all melasma.
From Your Visit to Follow-up Checks
This is how the treatment progresses.
Preparation and recovery vary depending on the selected area and method. Please also let us know about any important schedules and your previous treatment experience.
Confirm the lesion and skin history
We check when the discoloration appeared, recent tanning, inflammation, or laser treatments, and the cosmetics or medications you are using.
Set the goal and treatment area
We distinguish melasma, blemishes, and body pigmentation, and explain the device, method, number of sessions, and expected recovery.
Cleansing and protection preparation
We prepare the skin in the treatment area and set up eye protection and any necessary anesthesia according to the device and location.
Scan using the planned method
We distinguish broad-area toning from localized lesion treatment. We proceed while checking for stinging and skin reactions.
Soothing and next plan
We explain moisturizing, UV protection, and how to care for scabs if they occur, and determine the next timing and method based on the skin response.
What to Know Before and After Treatment
Please manage your skin like this after the procedure.
- Daily care
- Reduce UV exposure and strong friction, and moisturize. Makeup and cleansing guidance varies depending on the procedure type.
- Scabbing and redness
- Do not force off scabs or use exfoliating products right away. If blisters form or pain worsens, please contact the clinic.
- Changes in color
- We distinguish between a temporary darkening response and persistent hyperpigmentation. Do not repeat strong treatments on your own before the skin has recovered.

FAQ
Questions to Ask Before Deciding.
Is PicoSure Pro toning enough?
Depending on the composition of melasma and blemishes, topical treatment or other methods may be needed. We do not decide the treatment plan based on the device name alone.
How many sessions does it take to go away?
It varies depending on the type and depth of the pigmentation and the skin’s response, and complete removal is difficult to guarantee. Please also check the possibility of recurrence and the management plan.
Can it get darker after the procedure?
It may look darker due to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, among other reasons. Please inform us of any skin reaction, and do not add irritating products on your own.
Can blemishes also be removed while receiving toning?
Different methods may be needed. Whether they can be performed together or should be treated separately is decided based on the lesions and skin response.
Is underarm pigmentation treated at the same interval as the face?
It depends on the area's irritation, recovery, and hair-removal schedule. The number of sessions listed in the price chart does not mean the same interval for all areas.
Results and recovery vary by individual, and all procedures carry a risk of side effects.
Before choosing treatment
What to expect and consider
Melasma and other dark spots need different plans
Skin tone, pigment depth and triggers all matter in melasma. Sun protection and topical medication may form the basis of care, with laser or light treatment added according to the skin’s condition. [1]
Skin response matters more than intensity or session count
A study combined IPL and laser for melasma, but followed a small group for a short time. Results from combined treatment cannot be attributed to one procedure alone. Recurrence and pigment changes also need discussion. [2][1]
